Manor: Jordan King confirmed as development driver

In continuity with 2015, Manor has decided to retain Jordan King in his role as development driver. The young Brit, who will also participate in the GP2 championship this season, is very happy to continue his work with the team: « The time spent with the team last year was really important for me and for my personal goals. So, when I got the chance to drive the MR03B during the Abu Dhabi test, it felt like I had a head start and I was really confident. But what I want to do now is race and I am ready to work to achieve that. Continuing in the role of development driver with Manor Racing is key to this progression, and I am happy to work with Dave Ryan, Pascal, and Rio for the first time. »

On the team’s side, the enthusiasm is shared, as highlighted by Dave Ryan, Manor’s sporting director: “I was present at the Abu Dhabi tests, where Jordan drove our car for the first time and did an impressive job. It was clear that he had fully grasped the opportunity to be part of the team and to understand the systems, processes, and people. Over the winter months, he helped us refine the driver installation with the new chassis while awaiting the signing of our race drivers, so the development driver role is really mutually beneficial. We look forward to having him in the team and wish him a good season in GP2.”

Manor has chosen to approach this new season with Pascal Wehrlein and Rio Haryanto as full-time drivers.
