Williams: Massa and Bottas Already Focused on Saturday
Like the majority of teams today, Williams did not complete many laps during the two sessions. Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas expect a big day on Saturday.
The rain and wind disrupted the first laps for the teams in this first Grand Prix of the season. The Williams drivers couldn’t dodge the raindrops and did very little driving this Friday.
Felipe Massa, frustrated, is eager to get back on track Saturday: « We weren’t expecting a day like this because of the weather. Tomorrow is another day and I’m sure we will learn a lot more. I can’t wait to be on the track tomorrow, I just want to drive! »
There’s not much to say. There wasn’t a lot of action on track today, confirms Valtteri Bottas. This morning was a bit better than the afternoon where we waited for the track to dry up, but that never happened.
We must listen to the words of Rob Smedley, performance director, to find a bit of enthusiasm within the team: « It’s exciting for all of us to be back on track and getting ready to race again. There is a lot of anticipation for the team after a lot of hard work over the winter and everyone is eager to get going. It was a bit disappointing for all of us today, and for the fans, but with the weather conditions we couldn’t really achieve much more. Our goal is to get more work done tomorrow. »
