Sauber remains stuck at the bottom of the standings
The season is likely to be long for the two Sauber drivers, Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson. At the wheel of a car terribly lacking in pace, the two main drivers of the Swiss team will be content with the reliability of their C35.
The seasons follow one another but are not alike for Sauber. The year 2015 started well for the Swiss team, which managed to secure significant points, notably due to Felipe Nasr’s 5th place in Australia.
But this year, the Saubers are only shadows of what they were last year, and their two drivers are having a hard time finding the right rhythm at the wheel of a C35 that is clearly poorly born: « It was a productive day that allowed me to cover a good number of kilometers. We need this to continue our work and understand the characteristics of the C35. There is surely room for improvement in terms of pure performance. »
Felipe Nasr does not seem more satisfied with his ride than his Swedish teammate: « In terms of driving, I am still not satisfied with the car’s behavior. We still have a lot of work to do to find more pace. »
The best time of the day for the team is credited to Marcus Ericsson, who managed to secure a disappointing 16th place in the first free practice session of the day, before dropping to an anonymous 20th place in the afternoon, just ahead of his teammate Felipe Nasr…
