The Red Bulls seem to be in great shape since the start of the weekend between the Monaco rails. Even though Max Verstappen made a small error without consequence this morning, Daniel Ricciardo set the fastest time in FP2 yesterday and remained very close to the Mercedes and Vettel this morning.
Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari have experienced mixed fortunes since Thursday, alternating between the good and the not-so-good. On the Mercedes side, there is surprise at the strong pace of Red Bull and Nico Rosberg, like Lewis Hamilton, is expecting a close fight for pole position.
On the French side, Romain Grosjean, who is racing with a helmet paying tribute to Jules Bianchi, still hasn’t found the miracle solution to regain his early-season form. But the Monegasque roulette could very well allow him to create the upset, like his compatriot Olivier Panis did 20 years ago, provided he doesn’t position himself too poorly today.
