Haas: Gutierrez just misses the points again!
Esteban Gutierrez is still just outside the top 10, but has yet to score any points. His 12th-place finish in Monaco, however, has boosted his confidence, especially in complicated weather conditions. He spoke to Motorsinside about his current performance.
Even though he finishes just ahead of his teammate Romain Grosjean, Esteban Gutierrez fails to score points in the world championship standings. A frustrating 12th place would crown his numerous efforts in a race with difficult weather conditions.
Still at the door of the Top 10, the Mexican is not resigned: « Of course, I am not happy with this situation. But I’m pushing, I will keep pushing to find the consistency that will put us in better conditions. »
The next Grand Prix, in Canada, will be quite different from the one in the streets of Monaco. When asked if he hopes to finally score points on this occasion, his response remains cautious: “I don’t completely expect to score points in Canada, but it’s the goal and it will always be the goal, so we will do our best.”
If Romain Grosjean has seemingly found a car with which he feels better, Gutierrez, on the other hand, felt very comfortable with his Haas, especially in the wet conditions at the start of the race: « I was confident with my car, particularly in the wet. It was very nice to drive the car in these conditions even if with the slick tires and rising temperatures, it was a bit more difficult. »
