Official: Ferrari retains Kimi Räikkönen for 2017
Kimi Räikkönen has been rumoured to be in danger of joining Ferrari next season. The team announced the news in a press release ahead of today's British Grand Prix.
It’s now official, Kimi Räikkönen will indeed be part of the Ferrari adventure next season. Not really concerned about the rumors surrounding him, the Finn is thus extended for an additional season with the Scuderia.
The team announced the news in a simple statement released this morning: « The Scuderia Ferrari announces that it has renewed its technical and sporting partnership with Kimi Räikkönen. Next season’s lineup will consist of the Finnish driver and Sebastien Vettel. »
This will paralyze the already quiet transfer market even more this summer, as noted by another Finn, Valtteri Bottas, who recently described it as frozen.
