Official: Vettel penalized 3 grid positions in Japan
Sebastian Vettel has been found guilty of the collision at the first corner of the Malaysian Grand Prix. The driver will therefore be penalized three places on the grid for next weekend's Japanese Grand Prix.
The first lap of the Malaysian Grand Prix continues to be a topic of discussion, even several hours after the Grand Prix was won by Daniel Ricciardo and his Red Bull.
If the two main protagonists of this clash, Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, appear to blame each other, the fault was attributed to the German by the race stewards at Sepang.
As a result, the Ferrari driver will be penalized by three grid positions for the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka, which will take place next weekend.
A sanction that seems quite logical in view of the images where a Vettel in distress struggled to slow down his car inside the corner, sending the front of his car into the Mercedes of the unfortunate Nico Rosberg.
