The Chinese GP will go ahead on Sunday
The idea of holding the race on Saturday instead of Sunday was once considered, but has now been abandoned by the FIA.
The very bad weather conditions hitting China and the Shanghai circuit have already severely disrupted the start of the Grand Prix weekend.
The first free practice session was cut short by several minutes, while the second session was outright canceled.
Weather conditions, however, are expected to improve as early as tomorrow before becoming complicated again on Sunday. The FIA and the teams had then suggested the idea of organizing the race on Saturday, in much safer conditions, particularly for transport to the nearest hospital if needed.
But a spokesperson for the FIA has just announced that this possibility has been dismissed after a meeting with all the concerned members. The race will therefore take place on Sunday.
