With the cancellation of the second free practice session and the weather disruption that affected the first, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen didn't set a single lap time all day.

The Ferrari drivers didn’t set a single time on Friday!

The least that can be said is that this Chinese Grand Prix is already among the most atypical races of recent years.

The weekend in Shanghai thus began with a very frustrating day for the drivers who could not, or barely, take to the track due to very harsh weather conditions. A thick fog and constant rain prevented the necessary safety conditions from being favorable for the practice sessions.

« Today, we didn’t learn anything. » hammered Kimi Räikkönen at the end of the day before continuing: « After the installation lap, we returned to the pits and then the session was interrupted. It’s unfortunate but it’s the same for everyone. We can’t do anything against the weather and sometimes these situations happen. But even if we could have run today, it would have been in the rain while it will be sunny tomorrow. »

Sebastian Vettel, on the other hand, had a thought for the fans who came to see no on-track action: « It’s a shame for us but also for the fans who came to see us. But what could we do? Let’s wait to see what we can do tomorrow and see if we have the right settings. »

Saturday is set to be a busy day for all the teams that will try to make up for lost time.
