Hamilton unhappy with the way the day went

Lewis Hamilton was rather annoyed on this Friday evening at not having been able to offer the public the expected show. He nevertheless tried to make his contribution to the show by meeting the spectators during FP2.

Hamilton unhappy with the way the day went

Weather conditions played tricks on the organizers of the Chinese Grand Prix and the FIA. Indeed, even though the track was deemed usable by the drivers and race officials, the thick fog prevented the medical helicopter from being operational in the event of an accident.

The safety conditions not being met, multiple interruptions during FP1 and the cancellation of FP2 were decided, much to the dismay of Lewis Hamilton: « The track was absolutely drivable, and we could have run all day without any problem if it hadn’t been for those clouds. It’s not a good thing for the fans watching on television, and it’s even worse for those who had traveled. »

The track activity was so poor that the triple British world champion even went to meet the public at the foot of the stands, while everyone was waiting to see if FP2 would start or not: « They hardly got to see a car on track today. We need to think about them. We need to work together with the FIA and FOM to find a solution and an alternative if we ever encounter these circumstances in the future. »
